NVIDIA Unveils BlueField-4 for AI-Powered Data Centers

The rapid growth of AI factories has created an unprecedented demand for processing power, driving the need for a new class of infrastructure that can keep pace. This move reflects broader industry trends, where companies are increasingly relying on AI to drive innovation and stay competitive. At the NVIDIA GTC Washington, D.C., the company unveiled the NVIDIA BlueField-4 data processing unit, a key component of the BlueField platform that accelerates gigascale AI infrastructure.

The BlueField-4 is powered by an NVIDIA Grace CPU and NVIDIA ConnectX-9 networking, delivering 6x the compute power and supporting AI factories up to 4x larger than its predecessor, the BlueField-3. This significant boost in performance enables the processing of trillion-token workloads, making it an essential tool for companies looking to stay ahead in the AI race. With its ability to support 800Gb/s of throughput, the BlueField-4 is designed to accelerate every workload, in every AI factory, transforming data centers into secure, intelligent AI infrastructure.

The NVIDIA BlueField-4 platform also features multi-tenant networking, rapid data access, AI runtime security, and cloud elasticity, making it an attractive solution for companies looking to build secure and efficient data centers. The platform’s support for NVIDIA DOCA microservices enables seamless integration and management of multiple network, security, and storage services within a single, unified framework. This is particularly important in today’s cloud-native era, where companies need to be able to scale and secure their infrastructure quickly and efficiently.

The adoption of NVIDIA BlueField-4 is expected to be widespread, with server and storage leaders such as Cisco, DDN, Dell Technologies, HPE, IBM, Lenovo, Supermicro, VAST Data, and WEKA already planning to integrate the technology into their next-generation servers and AI storage platforms. Cybersecurity leaders, including Armis, Check Point, Cisco, F5, Forescout, Palo Alto Networks, and Trend Micro, are also building new solutions with the NVIDIA BlueField platform, planning to integrate NVIDIA BlueField-4 to deliver zero-trust, AI runtime security, and real-time threat protection.

As the AI landscape continues to evolve, the importance of secure and efficient infrastructure cannot be overstated.
